I had a recent request from a reader for more posts of playing with and caring for my own fur babies. I haven’t really done any specific blogging yet about my cat rescues so I thought this would be a great chance to start introducing them here.
I do share a lot of my photos on Instagram, but I have been wanting to tell my stories and promote animal rescue and adoption through my blog, too. So here is my official introduction for Preshus and Samson, my first rescues as an adult, and currently the best cat children ever.
As any mom would refer to their own children, I refer to mine as the best cat children, because I truly believe they are. They are also the cutest, most adorable, most friendly, and loving creatures anyone could ever meet, despite their individually obnoxious personalities and characteristics.
I dedicate my life to scooping cat boxes, cleaning up hairballs and vomit, having furniture and clothing decorated with hair, the occasional piddle party in the laundry basket, and the seemingly incessant demands for attention or stealing my chair. I do it out of love and perhaps a little bit of crazy, but it brings me happiness and makes my life complete.
I’m working on the individual stories of Preshus and Samson (along with all my others), so this is just a quick introduction through some of my Instagram posts.
Preshus is a multi-colored, mostly dark, long-haired cat. She may be part Maine coon, or something like that, but she’s quite tiny under all that fur. She loves yelling at me constantly for petting, brushing and outside time, and especially loves when I hug her tight to my chest while she purrs.
Samson is a chubby, ginger feral-born, short-haired cat, who is in denial about needing to lose weight. He sometimes seems to think he is human and is entitled to do whatever we humans do. He spends most of his time eating and sleeping in weird places like the bathtub.
They aren’t best friends, but they appreciate and envy each other.
Preshus likes getting dirty.
Samson likes to indulge.
Preshus likes to distract me from work…
…and watching tv…
…unless she’s watching with me.
Samson loves sleeping on my lap…
…and on daddy’s lap, too.
Preshus likes drinking from my cup….
Samson LOVES shoes…
… a lot.
Samson likes toys….
…and video games.
Samson likes to hang out in weird spots like shoe boxs…
…vegetable storage shelves….
Samson bugs me when I go to the toilet…
….or take a bath.
Most importantly, Preshus and Samson bring us love and companionship.
