I tend to rewrite myself every so often in my life journey. My ideas and thoughts change, along with my inspirations and what it is I’m passionate about at the moment.
Rather than delete my former about pages and continuously rewriting them, I’ve decided I’ll just update them yearly in the same article. You can keep scrolling after this if you’d like to read last year’s rendition.
At the moment, I believe my most recent edition Who Is Jaime? is doing a great job at summing up where I’m at medically speaking. But I’ve also had some really amazing things happening since then that have OPENED MY MIND.
As we all are, I’m working on establishing my purpose on this rock. And by that I don’t mean in a spiritual or religious sense. I want my life to mean something as anyone else does.
In an exercise to be grateful for what I have now I’ve had to begin to admire some negative aspects of my life. That is what I tend to share here in my blog, along with whatever else I feel like sharing.
I figure, there is someone in the world who is going through exactly what I’m going through or similar. The more I talk about it, the more we can find the people we can relate to wherever they may be.
This doesn’t conform to a particular niche. There are so many facets to me.
So while I limited my 2017 About to focusing on plus-size fashion and natural approaches to healing, I found that a little too limiting for my desires.
I want to write things that people relate and connect to. And I want to give us all the freedom to be open and real about what life is.
Step aside, Kim, there’s a new girl in town and she’s gathering her minions to promote being normal and make it popular.
So if you’ve been drawn to my site for any interesting reason, please feel free to explore and find something else you might enjoy.
As always, I love emails: email@example.com – but I don’t always have time to answer them, so I won’t unless I feel compelled to. I’m particularly interested in hearing from other bloggers or people who want to blog.
And, of course, if you shop through my blog you will make dreams come true.
Thank you for reading.
Ever since I was a child, I have been enthralled with magazines. I loved to journey the pages of my mom’s Woman’s Day or whatever she had picked up from the stands to read that day.
Growing up I was occasionally allowed to pick up a copy of my own magazine favorites, BOP and Teen Beat.
As soon as I was able to, I got my own subscription to People Magazine and started following fashion and people’s lives. And over the years I graduated to more sophisticated reading, such as Marie Claire and Vogue.
The digital world has changed the idea of the magazine and how people receive their news and entertainment, although I doubt anything will ever replace those beautiful glossy pages 100%.
So I’m taking advantage of how easy it is now to self-publish, and I’ve created Jaime Talks, my online magazine resource for information on things I hope others find helpful and entertaining.
Although I do use this blog as an outlet for any topic that sparks inspiring and helpful conversation, and I hope to expand and add further “columns” for my readers, there are two main loves that I want to focus on here: Natural Healing and Fashion
I grew up understanding and believing that I should take care with what I put into my body, particularly with regard to prescriptions and pain relievers, or any chemical substance with medical side effects.
My mom had a Big Book of Natural Healing, that gave all sorts of home remedies. Anytime I was sick or in pain, she found a remedy for it.
When I got older, I decided to go through culinary school and take the nutrition certification classes. I completed the Associates Degree in culinary arts, as well as my BA in Hospitality Business Management, but my real focus has been to learn how to heal through food.
Throughout my life, I have run into some chronically painful medical issues, that I still deal with now. I have made the mistake of giving in to prescriptions that have made things worse. I am a strong believer that Big Pharma does not always have our best interests at heart. Many people are willing to be Guinea pigs because they don’t know any better, or they’re desperate for a solution to their pain. I’ve been there.
I want to promote options that help people avoid any pills that might cause further damage. And I want to help people heal with food.
I’m still very much into fashion, even more after spending years working for a popular high-end retailer, but I’m particularly interested in the side of fashion that entertains to the “real girl or woman” who doesn’t fit the typical body types that are falsely promoted as beauty.
Fashion is for everyone, every shape and size, age or gender. It’s an expression of who we are and who want to be.
Have you ever heard someone say, “Dress for the job you want?”
I think that dressing for the life you want can be just as applicable, and even has therapeutic value. Which is how the topic fits so perfectly into my desired role as a healer.
Everything Else About Me
I also love rescuing animals, traveling, everything Disney, eating good food, cooking good food, writing, singing, musical theatre, drawing, painting, sewing, crafting, and pretty much any form of expression or love you can think of.
I am an empathetic soul.
I feel a lot of pain for the suffering in the world.
I created this website so that I could have an outlet for my emotions, and so I could help others. I’m having a lot of fun expanding it with my interests.
I hope that you can find something here to help you through any trying time you’re having, or at least something to entertain you.
I do get paid a small commission if you decide to buy something I recommend. It’s how I support this therapy. I hope you understand and don’t mind supporting a small, family-run business.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or would like me to promote or review something through my site. I also would love to hear your feedback on any of my articles.
I will try to get back to you within 24-48 hours, unless it’s the weekend or I’m taking a needed vacation.
Thank you so much for visiting.
